SNW Spring 2006 is next week...
Here's what you can expect.
1. There will be a ton of announcements. None will be super interesting. Companies feel compelled to announce at SNW (and other shows), so meaty announcements get caught up with "Spaz Inc. CEO to speak at Old Folks Home" announcements.
2. What will be interesting is what EMC/Dell and EMC/Intel announce. I'll be talking about that in my Tuesday lunchtime presentation.
3. Other things I'm going to be spending time on will be IIM, some really interesting new archiving data, security and some market updates - as well as to introduce a new "context" for thinking about the backup/recovery/disaster recovery processes you deal with. We've craftily (Tony Asaro) came up with 3DR - or D2D2DR. Suffice to say it will make more sense live, I hope.
4. If you can, check out some of the ESG'ers on Monday afternoon - there will be 4 quick hit sessions by ESG analysts covering Digital Archiving, IIM (Intelligent Information Management), Security, and NAS systems.
5. If we don't get a chance to meet in San Diego, my apologies. I'm only there for the first few days, and as you know, for some reason SNW is like the prom, and somehow I became the queen. Embarrassing, but true.
6. I'll try to blog a few times during my stint and let you know what's interesting - otherwise, I'll be back to you to talk about the good, bad, and ugly.
