Encryption Acquisitions
Now that large organizations realize how important it is to protect the confidentiality and integrity of their critical data, encryption has gone from an egghead academic to a mainstream technology. As this occurs, there's lots of wheeling and dealing going on. Decru, Ingrian, PointSec, and SafeBoot have all been acquired by large companies over the past year.
Does this mean a run on encryption companies? Not exactly, some big guys are walking away and for good reason. See my C/Net blog for more details.
